  • Oversee LTL and FTL transportation operations, ensuring reliable service, efficient scheduling, and cost-effective execution.
  • Manage DOT and Hazmat compliance programs, ensuring adherence to applicable FMCSA regulations and transportation requirements.
  • Oversee CDL endorsement processes and related driver qualification and compliance requirements.
  • Negotiate carrier contracts, transportation rates, and service agreements to secure competitive pricing and reliable service.
  • Establish and benchmark freight rates to evaluate transportation costs and identify opportunities for savings.
  • Develop and manage transportation budgets, monitor expenses, and implement cost-control initiatives.
  • Maintain transportation schedules and coordinate fleet and carrier resources to meet operational needs.
  • Build and maintain relationships with carriers, transportation vendors, and other service providers.
  • Oversee GPS tracking and telematics programs to monitor fleet activity, improve visibility, and support operational efficiency.
  • Establish consistent transportation processes, procedures, and performance metrics across multiple entities.
  • Identify opportunities to improve fleet utilization, freight costs, compliance, and overall transportation performance.
  • Travel to company locations as needed to assess operations, implement programs, and build relationships.
What We're Looking For
  • Demonstrated experience managing transportation, fleet, or freight operations (8+ years).
  • Strong working knowledge of both LTL and FTL transportation.
  • Experience managing DOT and Hazmat compliance programs.
  • Knowledge of FMCSA regulations and applicable transportation requirements.
  • Experience with carrier negotiations, freight rate benchmarking, and vendor management.
  • Experience managing transportation budgets, schedules, and operating costs.
  • Familiarity with GPS tracking systems and fleet telematics.
  • Experience overseeing transportation programs across multiple locations or business entities.
  • An entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to develop programs, establish processes, and build infrastructure.
  • Strong organizational, communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.

Why Work Here?
  • Opportunity to build and shape fleet, freight, and compliance programs.
  • Significant ownership and visibility across multiple business entities.
