Job summary

Valius Sciences is advancing cancer care with maximalist diagnostics and deep molecular profiling. We seek a Director of Translational Science to translate complex molecular data into evidence-based treatment options, interfacing with patients, clinicians, and scientists. In-person role in San Francisco or Boston.

The role requires oncology fluency, biomarker interpretation, and strong communication; leadership of one or more team members is expected as we scale our translational science efforts.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree or equivalent with substantial oncology experience.
• Deep understanding of oncology therapeutics (targeted therapy, IO, ADCs, resistance, sequencing).
• Demonstrated ability to interpret clinical trial evidence and explain relevance (including biomarkers).
• Experience presenting complex information to patients confidently and empathetically.
• Ability to reason from molecular data to therapy hypotheses with evidence-based judgment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Comfort working in high-stakes, client-facing settings and evolving evidence.
• Interest in working for a small, early-stage startup.

Responsibilities

• Develop treatment strategies prioritizing SOC, trials, and therapeutic options based on molecular data and evidence.
• Interpret trial data, biomarker performance, and real-world feasibility of options.
• Communicate findings directly to patients and care teams; guide next steps.
• Collaborate with computational biologists to integrate patient molecular data.
• Coach supervisees and provide ongoing mentorship to the team.
• Draft therapy/biomarker briefs and playbooks for internal use.
• Support R&D efforts with input from scientific, engineering, and product teams.
