Job summary

AEP is seeking a Director of Business Transformation (Special Projects) to lead strategic transformation across Transmission, partnering with leaders to identify and prioritize high-impact opportunities, and to drive process improvements using Lean, Six Sigma, and Agile practices.

The role focuses on KPI development, data-driven decision making, and building a capable transformation team, with on-site work at multiple locations in the U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, IT, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, or related field.
• MBA or advanced degree preferred.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in the utility industry.
• PMP, Lean, Six Sigma or related certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and execution of transformation strategies aligned with the Transmission CoE vision.
• Oversee end-to-end process improvement initiatives across transmission operations.
• Develop and monitor KPIs to measure transformation success and inform decisions.
• Lead change management and develop training plans for new processes and technologies.
• Build and lead a high-performing transformation team and coach staff on improvement tools.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure alignment and drive accountability.
