Job summary

Richmond Public Schools seeks a Director of Technology Services to lead division-wide technology initiatives, including integration, networking, and student information systems, ensuring reliable support for teaching and learning.

You will manage teams, oversee budgets and procurements, advance data-driven decision making, and partner with staff, students, and families to deliver secure, accessible technology across the district.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree with specialization in Business Administration, Information Systems, or related field.
• Master’s degree preferred.
• Minimum of five years of management experience supervising IT operations; urban school division experience preferred.
• Experience with technology funding sources preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and strong interpersonal skills.
• Strong computer skills: Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Google Suite; Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic and tactical direction to align technology with teaching and learning.
• Lead division-wide technology planning and implementation.
• Oversee application development, network/server ops, data/communications, and records management.
• Manage department budget and technology procurements for the 1:1 program.
• Direct the customer service desk and desktop support teams.
• Foster collaboration with staff, students, parents, and external partners.
