Job summary

Virginia Beach City Public Schools seeks a leader to coordinate the implementation of technology into the classroom and curriculum, including the instructional technology program, library media program, online and distance learning programs, Planetarium, and Instructional Resource Center.

The role focuses on directing technology integration, providing professional learning, and managing budgets and programs to advance K-12 instructional strategies.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in education administration required.
• Endorsement in Administration and Supervision PreK-12 required.
• Minimum of five (5) years of successful teaching experience.
• At least three (3) years of successful school-based or central office administrative experience.
• Preferred: CAS or doctoral degree with instructional coaching and curriculum development experience.

Responsibilities

• Direct instructional technology implementation and integration for the division.
• Provide leadership in the integration of technology in schools.
• Promote programs to enhance instructional technology management and improve K-12 instruction through technology.
• Manage daily operations, and policy and budget development of assigned programs.
• Maintain oversight of instructional technology, library media, Planetarium, and Instructional Resource Center.
• Collaborate with instructional coordinators to deliver division-wide staff development.
• Participate in division and departmental strategic planning.
• Interviews and recommends candidates for instructional coordinator and specialist roles.
• Serve as a liaison between the Department of Teaching and Learning and the Department of Technology.
• Develop instructional technology curriculum resources with content coordinators.
• Support CS standards and leadership in new technologies.
