Job summary

The Medical College of Wisconsin is seeking a Director for the Office of Technology Development (OTD) to lead technology transfer activities, manage IP portfolios, and drive industry collaborations. This role shapes strategies for patenting, licensing, and partnerships, oversees a team, and represents MCW in the biotech ecosystem to accelerate translating discoveries into patient-focused products.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in biomedical sciences.
• Minimum seven years of experience in technology transfer/business development.
• Experience licensing intellectual property in biomedical tech.

Responsibilities

• Manage development, disclosure, and protection of MCW IP; negotiate ownership and licensing terms.
• Provide strategic direction for the OTD and lead a team of technology management professionals.
• Identify technologies for commercialization and collaborate with external partners to support startups.
• Monitor and report portfolio performance and drive industry collaborations.
• Educate faculty and staff on IP policy and commercialization strategies.
