Job summary

Capital One is seeking a Director of Technical Program Management in McLean, VA to lead programs that deliver on key business goals and build large-scale products and platforms to enhance customer experiences.

You will shape the TPM discipline, establish operating mechanisms, roadmaps, and ensure architectural alignment across multiple engineering teams while managing risks and driving data-driven tradeoffs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field.
• At least 7 years of experience managing technical programs.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to TPM / Delivery strategy: establish operating mechanisms, maturity models, and tooling that scale across portfolios
• Drive development of and alignment on program roadmap anchored in business objectives, definition of done, technical solutions, and sequencing of dependencies
• Lead cross-platform technical investment planning and ensure architectural alignment toward long-term platform convergence and reuse
• Serve as an executive-level escalation point for program risks, influencing technology leaders to make data-driven tradeoffs between speed, cost and resiliency
• Ensure definition of measurable outcomes of platform success (availability, scalability, cost efficiency, developer velocity) and ensure delivery accountability across multiple engineering teams
