Job summary

Straz Center for the Performing Arts in Tampa, FL seeks a Technical Director for the Patel Conservatory. This role oversees lighting, sound, scenic, costume design, and construction, while guiding Production staff and coordinating with faculty to fulfill technical needs.

The position requires strong leadership, budgeting experience, and the ability to manage multiple productions and events within a dynamic educational setting.

Qualifications

• Strong budgeting, planning and staff supervision skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Experience coordinating production staff and contractors.

Responsibilities

• Oversee Patel Conservatory production operations, including lighting, sound, scenic, costume, and construction.
• supervise Technical staff and collaborating with Department Chairs and Production Directors.
• coordinate contractor agreements and oversee design implementations.
• develop SOPs and ensure safety, scheduling, and budget adherence.
