The Department of Theatre and Dance is seeking a qualified individual to fulfill a new position created for Technical Theatre support. Main duties include lighting and sound design for all department productions (theatre and dance), with the possibility of some scenic design and construction. Teaching dance production courses as required; providing oversight for all performance-related events at the Falk Theatre, Ferman Black Box Theater, and Gordon Theatre; and operating and maintaining production equipment for the department. To meet the needs of the various programs involved, this position demands flexibility in maintaining a work schedule. The Department of Theatre and Dance presents ten departmental productions per academic year: Six theatre productions and four dance events/presentations. This position reports to the Dean of College of Arts and Letters, and is expected to work collaboratively with faculty, as well as departmental guest artists and directors.
The ideal candidate will have a master’s degree in Theatre or affiliated discipline. A bachelor's degree with significant professional experience may be considered. The candidate should also have a minimum of three years of successful production work at the collegiate level.
