Job summary

The Morning Star Company in Los Banos, CA seeks an accomplished food scientist and technical leader to serve as Director of Technical Services & Innovation. This executive role oversees research and development, product innovation, process development, commercialization, customer technical support, packaging innovation, food safety, and manufacturing optimization.

Qualifications

• Master’s or Ph.D. preferred in a related scientific discipline.
• Minimum of ten years of progressive technical leadership experience in food manufacturing.
• Extensive knowledge of FDA regulations, FSMA, HACCP, Preventive Controls and quality systems.
• Experience with aseptic, hot-fill, retort, dehydrated foods and industrial ingredient manufacturing.
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally as required.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic technical leadership across R&D, product innovation, process development, commercialization, customer tech support, packaging, food safety, and manufacturing optimization.
• Lead cross-functional teams and manage multiple projects with aggressive timelines.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and suppliers as a trusted technical advisor.
• Identify opportunities to improve product quality, efficiency, and profitability through technical excellence.
