All our programs offer case management to set our clients up for success.

Position Summary

The Director of Supportive Housing is responsible for oversight of the Supportive Housing programs, which include the HUD – COC Grants: Dual Diagnosis, PSH and Veterans programs (85 vouchers); as well as a DOH-funded Permanent Supportive Housing (PSH) building with 42 vouchers. In total these programs provide services for up to 200 clients. This position is also responsible for managing and providing supervision for staff and interns of those programs, and reports to the Vice President of Programs.

This position may require availability to be on call during evenings, weekends, overnights, and holidays to support staff at The Commons PSH (permanent supportive housing) building.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Responsible for the oversight of HUD-funded housing programs and specialty housing for individuals with substance abuse and severe mental illness, and for individuals experiencing homelessness with possible criminal backgrounds.
  • Effectively lead, oversee, and supervise a team of case managers, housing assistants, peer specialists, interns, and volunteers to include supporting core values, addressing zero tolerance behaviors, and maintaining active communication with the employees supervised.
  • Conduct bi-monthly team meetings for case managers and provide regular individual supervision.
  • Create and maintain systems to ensure client records and databases are up to date, ensure that client interactions are timely and appropriately documented in the HMIS system, and adhere to appropriate confidentiality standards relative to data. Ensure Best Notes is utilized regularly to support the billing of supportive services.
  • In consultation with management, conduct/design interviews, assessments, and applications of prospective clients for the program by following up on referrals from external and internal sources.
  • Create and maintain updated policies and procedures, training manuals for assigned housing programs, and oversee the creation and implementation of yearly training for all staff.
  • Collaborate with community partners and other housing supportive service providers, and foster relationships with partnering agencies.
  • Coordinate with Pikes Peak Continuum of Care Coordinated Entry, State Division of Housing, The Independence Center (Voucher Administrator), and other entities as needed in order to facilitate contracts, referrals and program administration. Represent Homeward Pikes Peak during all Coordinated Entry meetings.
  • Oversee compliance with grant requirements as well as non-grant-funded initiatives, while monitoring implementation and tracking progress to ensure desired outcomes are achieved.
  • Ensure client program participation and adherence to HUD/State of CO standards by facilitating all client tenant conferences and/or behavior contracts with assigned case manager and client.
  • Work closely with the HPP finance department to ensure smooth and timely payments of all monthly rental and utility payments and deposits.
  • Work with the Leadership Team to set or review strategies and short/long term goals for effective and efficient operations of the assigned programs.
  • Oversee and track data in HMIS for outcome performance reports and run APR reports as needed.
  • Lead and support data management efforts, ensuring accurate tracking, analysis, and reporting of program outcomes, including the completion of grant reports and compliance documentation.
  • Closely track all program changes reflecting client/program successes or shortfalls, and provide report monthly to CEO, Vice President of Programs, and Director of Development.
  • Submit monthly and year-end reports to CEO and to funders when requested; participate in site visits as needed.
  • Review applications of incoming clients and approve discharges in accordance with HUD criteria.
  • Oversee all client records to ensure accuracy, quality, and timely documentation across team members, including supervision of electronic health record (EHR) systems, Medicaid billing processes, and all related databases.
  • Other duties as assigned.
HPP Team Duties

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s level degree in Social Services required.
  • Five (5) years of experience in the human service field providing direct client supportive services.
  • Three (3) years of supervisory or management experience preferred.
  • Experience working directly with people from diverse socioeconomic and ethnic backgrounds, ability to communicate effectively, crisis intervention, and harm reduction.
  • Understanding of regulations and standards regarding privacy and confidentiality in the provision of counseling services.
  • Valid Colorado driver’s license, clean driving record, and must carry personal vehicle insurance.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s level degree in Social Services preferred.
  • Knowledge of Mental Health Diagnosis and addictions counselling, experience or certifications (such as LAC) preferred.
  • Experience working for a non-profit organization.
  • Spanish speaker preferred but not required.

Compensation and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $80,000 – $85,000; this is a full-time, exempt position.
