Job summary

California State University, Monterey Bay invites applications for the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach. You will lead the NCAA Division II program, directing strength and conditioning for about 300 student‑athletes across 14 varsity sports, designing sport‑specific training, injury prevention, and performance development.

Requirements include CSCS or SCCC or RSCC, NSCA/SCCC credentials, CPR/First Aid, a bachelor’s in kinesiology or related field, and prior collegiate coaching experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in kinesiology, exercise science, or related field.
• CSCS or SCCC or RSCC certification (or equivalent).
• CPR/AED and First Aid certification.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee all aspects of the strength and conditioning program for ~300 student‑athletes across 14 sports.
• Develop sport‑specific training, injury prevention, and performance development plans.
• Collaborate with coaches, sports medicine staff, and academics to support wellbeing and competitive readiness.
• Maintain accurate training documentation and program records.
• Supervise and mentor staff and interns; coordinate internships with academic programs.
