Job summary

Howard University College of Medicine seeks a Director of Strategic Partnerships to lead development and management of corporate partnerships that advance research, workforce development, student success, and innovation. You will manage executive engagements, proposals, and cross-functional collaboration across campus.

Reporting to the AVP of Corporate Relations, you will supervise staff, oversee partnership performance, and drive measurable outcomes in a dynamic university setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required or equivalent in a relevant field.
• 8+ years in strategic partnerships, corporate relations, business development, external affairs, or related field.
• 3+ years in supervisory or management roles leading professional staff.
• Proven success developing, negotiating, and managing strategic partnerships with measurable outcomes.
• Ability to develop partnership strategies, proposals, presentations, and executive briefing materials.
• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication for executive audiences.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience using CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce) to manage partnerships and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement partnership strategies aligned with university priorities.
• Manage a portfolio of corporate and institutional partners; build a robust pipeline.
• Identify, cultivate, and negotiate new partnership opportunities.
• Lead development of partnership proposals, engagement plans, and collaborative initiatives.
• Coordinate executive meetings, campus visits, and partner engagements.
• Represent the Office of Corporate Relations at meetings and events; maintain senior stakeholder relationships.
• Collaborate with academic and administrative units to align activities with priorities.
• Prepare reports, marketing materials, and briefing documents; share success stories.
