Job summary

Alcon is seeking a Director of Statistical Innovation and Data Science to provide strategic leadership at the intersection of statistics, data science, ML and AI for evidence generation. The role is on-site in Fort Worth, Texas or remote in the US, and involves leading model development, validation, and collaboration across clinical, regulatory and data teams.

Qualifications include an MSc/PhD in Statistics or Biostatistics, deep expertise in statistical inference, and proficiency in R/Python

Qualifications

• Advanced degree (MSc or PhD) in Statistics or Biostatistics preferred.
• Applied expertise in data science, ML and/or deep learning with clinical/biomedical data.
• Proficiency in R and/or Python and reproducible analytical workflows.
• Experience in regulated environments and supporting regulatory submissions.

Responsibilities

• Provide senior quantitative leadership for clinical development and evidence generation.
• Develop and apply advanced statistical and ML models for high-dimensional data.
• Lead data science and ML methods for prediction, classification, and patient stratification.
• Communicate complex quantitative concepts to technical and nontechnical audiences and collaborate across functions.
