Job summary

d-Matrix is seeking an experienced Site Reliability Engineer leader to build and scale the SRE function across colocation, on-prem lab clusters, and cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP). You will hire and mentor a team, define SLOs, own the observability stack, and drive cost efficiency and reliability initiatives.

The role requires hands-on expertise in IaC, Kubernetes, and extensive experience with production-scale infrastructure across diverse environments.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
15+ years in SRE, infrastructure engineering, or production engineering.
Experience building or rebuilding SRE function, not just managing a steady-state team.
Deep Linux systems expertise and hybrid-cloud storage integration.
Hands-on IaC with Terraform and Ansible at production scale.
Kubernetes cluster operations at scale with RBAC.

Responsibilities

Build and lead the SRE function from scratch, defining charter and hiring 1–3 SRE engineers.
Direct Data Center & Lab Technician team with on-premises and colocation facilities.
Own 24x7 reliability across all environments and design for failure domains.
Establish SRE processes: SLIs/SLOs, on-call rotations, incident/RCA management.
Own observability stack and alerting for SLO visibility.
Drive IaC-first automation and self-healing infrastructure.
Own FinOps and capacity planning across cloud, colo, and on-prem.
Lead migration to enterprise-grade shared storage across environments.
