Job summary

Boston Unity Soccer Club LLC Foxborough, MA is seeking a Director of Sporting Human Resources to serve as the HR business partner for the sporting organization. You will lead employee relations, investigations, and coaching, embedded with coaches, medical and performance staff, and soccer operations.

This on-site role in Massachusetts focuses on employee relations, conflict resolution, and strengthening sporting culture, with travel to matches as needed and collaborations with the People

Qualifications

• 8+ years of progressive HRBP experience, including employee relations or investigations in sport.
• Proven ability to conduct workplace investigations with discretion and fairness.
• Understanding of how a sporting org operates and collaborates with coaches and operations.
• Skilled mediator with neutral, trusted handling of difficult conversations.
• Knowledge of employment law as it relates to workplace conduct and investigations.
• Experience designing and delivering HR training and LMS administration.
• Travel willingness and ability to work evenings/weekends as scheduled.
• Background checks required by Boston Legacy FC and NWSL

Responsibilities

• Serve as the dedicated employee relations and HR business partner for the sporting organization.
• Lead investigations, intake, and resolution pathways for staff concerns.
• Mediate conflicts between individuals, teams, and departments with coaching leaders.
• Advise sporting leadership on team dynamics, communication, and collaboration.
• Own performance management cadence, goal-setting, and 1:1 feedback cycles.
• Build leadership capability and manager training for conflict resolution and respectful conduct.
• Develop HR training programs and manage LMS for the sporting department.
• Collaborate with business-side People/Legal teams while maintaining payroll ownership elsewhere.
• Shape cultural standards and norms for a championship-caliber sporting org.
• Stay current on best practices in employee relations across leagues and teams.
• Travel to matches/events as needed with primary on-site presence in MA
