Qualifications

• Master in Special Education required; preferred
• School administrator license required
• 5+ years of experience
• Experience with learning/developmental/emotional issues preferred
• Strong planning and implementation skills
• Data reporting and analysis skills
• Ability to relate to youth from diverse backgrounds
• Willingness to work in multicultural setting
• Customer service orientation
• Ability to manage difficult or emotional situations
• Computer literacy in Windows, Word, Excel

Responsibilities

• Leads development, implementation, and evaluation of efforts related to student academic achievement
• Oversees school operations and staff
• Ensures programs provide a superior, safe, proven learning environment for youth and their families
• Understands student IEP goals and plans accordingly
• Coordinates and oversees the implementation of IEP documents
• Enhances curriculum and alignment with MA state standards
• Works collaboratively with agency partners
• Ensures instructional objectives are developed
• Develops relationships with district personnel, educational agencies and advocacy organizations
• Ensures compliance with guidelines set by DESE and licensing agencies
• Provides regular supervision for staff and completes annual performance reviews
• Ensures all staff is trained in accordance with DESE regulations
