The ideal candidate has 10+ years in supply chain with leadership experience, strong forecasting, tariff knowledge, and automotive industry interest. Advanced Excel and ERP/MRP proficiency are required for success.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in purchasing, procurement, sourcing, inventory planning, or supply chain with progression.
• Proven experience leading and developing teams.
• Strong experience with high-SKU inventory environments, demand forecasting, and supplier management.
• Strong knowledge of tariffs and their impact on purchasing, sourcing, and product costs.
• Experience in the automotive industry or strong personal interest in automotive products.
• Strong financial, analytical, negotiation, and leadership skills.
• Experience developing KPIs and performance-management processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of purchasing and inventory professionals, establishing clear goals, priorities, processes, and performance expectations.
• Develop and execute inventory planning, purchasing, and replenishment strategies aligned with sales forecasts, customer demand, and financial objectives.
• Manage strategic supplier relationships, including negotiations, business reviews, performance expectations, and corrective actions.
• Monitor inventory levels and performance, balancing product availability, carrying costs, inventory turns, and excess or obsolete inventory.
• Partner with Sales, Finance, Operations, and Product teams to improve forecasting, demand planning, and overall supply chain performance.
• Establish and monitor KPIs to identify opportunities for improved availability, margins, efficiency, and working capital.
• Identify and mitigate supplier, sourcing, tariff, and supply continuity risks.
• Drive process improvements and leverage technology, automation, and AI to improve purchasing and inventory efficiency.

The HT Group is partnering with a growing automotive aftermarket manufacturer and retailer to hire a Director of Inventory Planning & Purchasing. This leadership position will oversee inventory planning, purchasing, sourcing, and supplier relationships while developing strategies that improve product availability, working capital, profitability, and overall business performance.

Location: Wadsworth Ohio (Onsite)

Comp: $120-150k base + up to 10% bonus
