Job summary

Movement Search and Delivery is seeking a Senior Purchasing Buyer for a growing automotive supplier in Chesterfield, Michigan. This hands-on role focuses on developing and sourcing new U.S.-based suppliers to expand the North American supply chain.

You will manage sourcing projects end-to-end, negotiate pricing and terms, drive cost reductions, and collaborate closely with Engineering and Quality teams to meet supplier requirements.

Qualifications

• Automotive purchasing experience required.
• 2–4+ years of purchasing/sourcing experience.
• Experience managing sourcing projects.
• CAPEX and/or metals purchasing experience strongly preferred.
• OEM or Tier 1 automotive supplier experience.
• Experience with GM, Ford, Stellantis, Volkswagen and/or Honda preferred.
• Strong supplier negotiation and development skills.
• MRP/ERP experience.
• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Self-motivated, hands-on, and comfortable working in a growing environment.

Responsibilities

• Identify, develop, and source new U.S. suppliers.
• Manage purchasing and sourcing projects from RFQ through award and implementation.
• Negotiate pricing, contracts, terms, and supplier agreements.
• Develop and execute cost-reduction strategies.
• Track supplier performance, quality, cost, and delivery.
• Partner closely with Engineering and Quality on supplier requirements.
• Source materials, equipment, machinery, and services.
• Support the continued development of the company's U.S. supplier network.

Movement Search and Delivery is working with a growing global automotive supplier in Chesterfield, Michigan to identify and evaluate a Senior Purchasing Buyer for a newly created position supporting a major expansion.

About the Role:

This is a highly hands-on purchasing role with a major focus on developing and sourcing new U.S.-based suppliers. The company currently has a significant supplier base overseas and is looking for someone who can help build out its North American supply chain.

This individual will manage sourcing projects from start to finish, negotiate with suppliers, drive cost reductions, and work closely with engineering and quality.
