Millwood Inc. Mission – for all who come in contact with Millwood to clearly see the love of Christ in all that we do.
Millwood, Inc. is a leading provider of pallets, unit load technology, custom engineered material handling solutions, and erosion control, wood waste recycling and removal services across the continental United States. Millwood continually seeks innovative solutions for clients through a collaborative, custom-engineered solutions approach based on customer-specific needs.
Millwood brings a broad platform of products, engineered solutions, and service capabilities with over 1,800 dedicated employees across more than 30 locations in the continental United States.
Millwood is committed to fulfilling its mission and the growth of 1) people, 2) presence, 3) products, and 4) profitability, both for this and future generations of Millwood team members.
The Director of Sourcing is a senior leadership role responsible for the performance, development, and strategic direction of Millwood's national and regional sourcing organization. This role sits above the Sourcing Manager level and is accountable for building a high-performing sourcing team, managing workload and capacity across the group, and coaching Sourcing Managers toward their full potential.
Beyond people leadership, the Director of Sourcing serves as a critical business partner to executive leadership — regularly assessing the health of the sourcing function, identifying what is working, diagnosing what isn't, and translating those insights into clear recommendations that protect supply continuity, profitability, and growth. This individual must be equally comfortable coaching a team member through difficult supplier negotiation and presenting a candid business review to senior leadership.
The Director of Sourcing reports directly to the VP of Sales and serves as the primary leader of Millwood's Sourcing Manager team. This role works closely with the Director of Sales, Regional Sales Managers, Customer Support Managers, Operations Leadership, Finance, and Quality to align sourcing strategy with Company objectives. Sourcing Managers across assigned regions report directly to this role.
The successful candidate is a proven people leader with strong strategic sourcing and supply chain expertise, capable of managing a team through changing business conditions while maintaining supply continuity and cost discipline. The individual must demonstrate unquestioned integrity, sound judgment under pressure, and a genuine commitment to developing others — paired with the business acumen to make and defend critical calls about where the sourcing function is succeeding and where it needs to change.
This individual must be capable of balancing workload across a team with varying regional demands, identifying and closing skill or capacity gaps, and communicating both wins and setbacks to executive leadership with equal candor. Adaptability is essential: priorities, supplier markets, and team composition will shift, and this role is expected to adjust strategy and resourcing accordingly rather than defaulting to a fixed playbook.
Success in this role will be measured through team performance and retention, supply continuity across the region, cost savings and margin protection, the quality and timeliness of business assessments delivered to leadership, and the overall maturity of the sourcing function under this individual's leadership.
