Job description

We're looking for a Director of Services to lead multi-disciplinary consulting teams (POD-based) that build software and AI products for clients across industries. This is a senior leadership role that blends P&L ownership, delivery accountability, product strategy, people management, and business growth. You'll be accountable for the financial performance of your POD, revenue and margin while delivering high-quality solutions on time and on budget and developing the careers of your consultants.

The ideal candidate has grown through hands-on engineering and product roles into delivery leadership, and can move fluidly between a client's boardroom, a pre-sales conversation, and a sprint review.

What you'll do

• Own the P&L for your POD - accountable for revenue, margin, and profitability. Manage utilization, staffing mix, and delivery efficiency to hit financial targets while protecting quality and client value.
• Drive revenue growth and margin health across your accounts, balancing expansion, pricing, and cost-to-deliver, and forecasting reliably against budget.
• Lead delivery across a POD of 50–70+ consultants, ensuring engagements deliver measurable value, meet quality standards, and land on time and within budget, always aligned to client goals and company objectives.
• Own the delivery strategy for a portfolio of products and projects, defining how work is structured, prioritized, and executed to maximize business value for clients across diverse segments and regions.
• Partner with pre-sales to shape technical and commercial proposals, run product discovery, and define delivery approaches that are both value-driven and margin-sound.
• Drive account growth and retention, meeting sales-development and expansion targets, deepening client relationships, and identifying new business opportunities within existing accounts.
• Manage and grow people, acting as the career-development anchor for the consultants in your POD, performance management, mentorship, and growth pathways aligned to both individual aspirations and organizational goals.
• Embed AI into delivery, championing AI-assisted product development and modern engineering practices to raise productivity and quality across teams.
• Serve as the senior escalation point for delivery and financial risk, resolving conflicts across stakeholders (engineering, product, clients, leadership) and keeping engagements healthy.

What you'll bring

• 15+ years in technology, with a career path that moved from hands-on software development into product and delivery leadership.
• P&L / financial ownership experience - accountable for revenue and margin of a team, account, or business unit, with strong command of utilization, forecasting, and cost management in a services or consulting model.
• Proven product management experience - from requirements discovery and backlog prioritization to owning the strategy for a portfolio of 10+ products, ideally with large enterprise clients (e.g. automotive, financial services, banking).
• Track record leading large teams (50+ people) and multi-functional squads in a consulting or services environment.
• Strong command of agile methodologies and delivery frameworks, with the maturity to adapt them to the exploratory, iterative nature of AI and data-driven projects.
• Commercial acumen - comfortable in pre-sales, scoping, pricing, and proposal work, and accountable for growth, margin, and retention metrics, not just delivery.
• Excellent stakeholder communication and the ability to translate between business strategy, financial performance, and technical execution.
• A people-first leadership style, with a genuine commitment to career development and high-performing team culture.

A reasonable estimate of the current range for a Director of Services is from $200k to $210k yearly.
