Job summary

Avina of Milwaukee is seeking a Director of Independent and Assisted Living to lead operations across our Independent Living and Assisted Living communities in Milwaukee. You will drive resident satisfaction, regulatory compliance, and occupancy growth while partnering with marketing and clinical teams.

You will oversee budgets, staff development, and program standards to ensure high-quality care and superior resident experiences.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, business administration, social work, gerontology, or a related field is required.
• Minimum 3–5 years of leadership experience in senior living, healthcare, assisted living, or residential services management.
• Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills are essential.
• Experience with budgeting, financial management, and operational planning is required.
• Ability to build relationships with residents, families, staff, and community stakeholders is necessary.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and oversight for all Independent Living and Assisted Living operations.
• Develop, implement, and monitor policies, procedures, and service standards.
• Ensure a safe, welcoming, and resident-centered environment.
• Monitor resident satisfaction and address concerns in a timely manner.
• Collaborate with nursing and care teams to ensure individualized resident services.
• Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations.
• Prepare, manage, and monitor departmental budgets and resources.
• Analyze operational performance and implement improvement initiatives.
• Recruit, train, mentor, and evaluate staff members.
• Promote employee engagement, accountability, and professional development.
• Serve as a liaison between residents, families, staff, and community partners.
• Support move-in and transition processes for new residents.
• Lead community events, resident programs, and family engagement activities.
• Partner with marketing and sales teams to develop occupancy strategies and census development.
• Participate in tours, outreach, and referral development activities.
