Qualifications

• A bachelor's degree plus four years of full-time security experience in a large governmental agency, with at least 18 months in an administrative, managerial, or executive capacity.
• A high school diploma or equivalent plus six years of security program experience with at least 18 months in an administrative, managerial, or executive capacity.
• Equivalency with eighteen months in a managerial role is acceptable when meeting the above criteria.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and oversight of HRA's citywide security operations, including ~80 Peace Officers; ensure effective deployment and supervision for staff and customers.
• Oversee contracts covering ~500 contracted security guards; monitor performance, service levels, and contract compliance with timely corrective actions.
• Direct and oversee OPO's 24-hour emergency desk; ensure proper screening, referrals, and timely handling of emergencies.
• Develop and implement security procedures to guarantee a safe environment for HRA customers and staff.
• Oversee assessment of security needs; conduct on-site inspections with supervisory staff of staff, locations and equipment.
• Manage security plans for large-scale emergencies; advise senior staff on security issues.
• Liaise with NYPD, Department of Investigation, Inspector General and other agencies on internal investigations.
• Develop and execute agency-wide security strategy, policies, and operating standards based on threats and trends.
