This is a deeply technical leadership role with a software engineering background who has grown into people leadership, built security teams from the ground up, and writes and reviews code when it matters.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in security or software engineering.
• Shipped production software and evaluated security like an engineer.
• Proven record of building and scaling security teams.
• Deep technical fluency in cloud-native environments (AWS, Kubernetes).
• Cross-functional leadership with engineering and product teams.

Responsibilities

• Serve as deputy to the CISO and represent security to executives, customers, and regulators.
• Lead, coach, and grow managers and senior engineers across Security Engineering and Security Operations.
• Own the security engineering roadmap: cloud security, detection/response, identity, and secure-by-default initiatives.
• Drive cross-functional programs with Engineering, IT, and Product, including compliance initiatives.
• Set engineering standards for the security org: everything as code, automated, outcome-focused.
• Build hiring pipelines and manage performance and promotions within teams.
• Translate technical risk into business terms for the C-suite and board.
