Job summary

Security Level 5 is a Bay Area AI security nonprofit building the first datacenter purpose-built to defend frontier AI labs. The role involves leading large datacenter builds, producing credible schedules and costs, and translating security constraints into actionable planning in a highly regulated environment.

The position is based in the Bay Area with in-person work. Salary ranges from $250,000 to $500,000 USD per year, with full benefits including healthcare, dental, vision, and 401k match.

Qualifications

• Led large datacenter builds with touch points across every phase, from siting and power through commissioning.
• Can produce credible schedule and cost estimates that survive contact with implementation.
• Have built under regulated, classified, or security-constrained conditions.

Responsibilities

• Produce a practical roadmap for a full-scale SL5 datacenter build.
• Schedule and delay estimates, sequencing, and long-lead item identification (permitting, shell, power, cooling, ICD 705 work).
• Translate SL5 zoning requirements into buildable constraints for design/construction teams.
• Collaborate with track partners to integrate security requirements that can’t be retrofitted later.
