The Position

The Director of Search Execution will be responsible for conducting executive search engagements and leading a team of mid-level search professionals. This critical role will help ensure exceptional performance standards are met and maintained, revenue goals reached, and employees are consistently supported and developed.

This person will lead with an eye toward individual performance and function-wide operational efficacy. Partnering closely with search operations, the right person for this role will be excited to collaborate on identifying, trialing, and implementing process improvements that enhance the experience and impact of their entire team.

Executive Search Responsibilities

• As part of a team, conduct 4-6 executive search engagements per year.
• Conduct rigorous evaluation of executive candidates, including uncovering nuanced insights, behavioral traits, and private equity capabilities.
• Engage directly with private equity clients as a value-add consultant, providing assessments of search health, market dynamics, and executive candidates.
• Proactively study business models, functional backgrounds, and investment theses across the primary sectors we serve and drill down into specifics to become facile with details, best practices, and key value creation levers.
• Utilize KPIs to maintain healthy searches and diagnose/improve underperforming engagements.

Team Management Responsibilities

• Manage, coach, and mentor 4-7 direct reports.
• Collaborate with Search Ops and L&D to drive training, development, and onboarding.
• Conduct regular on-the-job “ride alongs” and reviews of key process steps, documenting performance, providing real-time feedback, and developing action plans.
• Establish clear expectations, review employee performance, and conduct biannual reviews.
• Build a high-performance culture focused on accountability, execution, and client/candidate satisfaction.
• Use team-wide insights and experiences to inform meaningful process improvement.
• Manage day-to-day direct report activities to ensure consistency, performance optimization, and adherence to best practices.
• Refine, monitor, and track search targets, KPIs, and performance metrics.

Qualifications

• 7+ years professional experience with at least:
• 3+ years executive recruiting.
• 2+ years people management; robust coaching/mentorship in lieu of solid-line reporting.
• Experience in environments with rigorous processes.
• Ability to prioritize, delegate, and manage multiple projects at once.
• Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Demonstrated success in productive problem‑solving and process improvement.
• Experience with data tracking and management.

Additional Information

• Fully remote role within the US.
• Unable to provide sponsorship for employment authorization.
• Business hours are 9am to 5pm ET.
• Expected workload for this role of 50-60 hours per week. Work during evenings or weekends is sometimes required.
• Due to the pace of the private equity clients we serve, work moves quickly and often on tight deadlines.
