Job summary

CAS is seeking a Director, Scientific Capability Engineering to lead the organization that builds and scales scientific tools and APIs powering our multi-domain science portfolio, starting with core chemistry and expanding into life science and materials science. You will set strategy, oversee architecture and budget, and partner with Product and science leaders to sequence investment across domains.

The role demands deep leadership, a track record of scaling technical capability across domains,

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a relevant field; advanced degree preferred.
10+ years of progressive technology experience in scientific or technical domains.
6+ years of people leadership, including managing managers.
Experience scaling capability across multiple scientific domains or product lines.

Responsibilities

Owns multi-year strategy and roadmap for scientific tools and API capability enablement.
Maintains extensible architecture and platform patterns for onboarding new domains.
Partners with Product and domain leaders to sequence investments across domains.
Manages leadership of managers, budget, and vendor relationships.
Ensures reliability, data quality, and compliance of tools and APIs.
