About The Role

Zone Director will be responsible for daily oversight and performance of a sales region within S&S Activewear, reporting to the current Region VP. He or She will own the P&L performance of the zone, directing all resources within the zone to sell products and services through effective performance management, account coverage, coaching, career development, and mentorship. The Zone Director will directly manage a group of approximately 15 Outside Reps, Account Managers and Inside Reps in the zone to ensure maximum productivity and effective performance. Overall, the Zone Director is responsible for delivery of performance for their complete geography, regardless of called on vs. unassigned status of accounts within the geography.

What You Will Do

  • Manage P&L for entire zone, which includes approximately 1300 assigned customers, plus 5-10000 unassigned, in each zone geography.
  • Directly oversee and performance manage all Inside Reps, Outside Reps, and Account Managers in the zone
  • Own a set of Key Account calls/customers and fill in account calls for open territories and rep vacation/leave.
  • Manage account flows across BD, Inside, Outside and account management within zone to most effectively grow the business.
  • Devote additional time coaching underperforming reps
  • Share feedback and needs related to AMs and Inside Reps to COE
  • Coordinates with National Accounts, E-Retail and Teams to appropriately cover local call points
  • Collaborate with other commercial teams to leverage functional insights and information to drive improved performance and growth within the Zone.
  • Create strategic approach to growing new accounts, retaining/expanding existing accounts and execute those plans within the region leveraging corporate programs, tools and information. Modify as needed to adjust to competitive environment.
  • Work with Region VP on any Special Projects or programs that occur through the year.
  • Expectations will be for the Zone Director to spend a minimum of 2 days per week in the field with outside reps/customers, plus additional time with inside reps and account managers.


What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 7+ years of sales and sales management experience, ideally with at least part of that in the promotional goods/apparel industry
  • Past experience of leading a team, or group, of individuals to achieve a common goal.
  • Thorough knowledge of S&S Activewear value proposition, systems, product offering, competitive landscape, and sales cycle
  • Proven/demonstrated ability to work independently and/or in a team/matrix environment, handle multiple demands and continually changing priorities
  • Demonstrated excellent skills in planning, time management, decision making, presenting, problem solving, conflict resolution and communications
  • Ability to work effectively with other functional areas of the business to exceed customer expectations
  • Demonstrates high level reasoning skills with the ability to solve practical problems and deal with a number of variables in situations of limited standardization. Able to interpret instructions presented in a variety of formats
