Our proprietary technology delivers superior performance at a lower cost, making it the go-to choice for industrial water treatment applications.

We serve customers in high-PFAS and heavy metal removal markets, including mining, cooling towers, and power generation.

We are expanding our reach in the Eastern USA and are looking for a highly connected, results-driven senior salesperson to drive business development and client acquisition in the industrial water treatment market.

Role Overview

As a Director of Sales - Industrial Water Treatment (Eastern Territory), you will be responsible for expanding Abtech’s industrial water filtration business in the Eastern Territory. Your primary focus will be developing relationships with customers currently using GAC and resin solutions, helping them transition to Abtech’s superior filtration media.

You will leverage your industry connections to generate leads, onboard new clients, and drive revenue growth through direct sales, pilot tests, and strategic business development. This role requires significant in-person engagement, travel, and CRM management.

We are open to both full-time employment and consultative/rep-based partnerships for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Sales & Business Development
    • Identify, engage, and convert industrial water treatment customers using GAC and resins.
    • Develop and execute a sales strategy to increase market adoption of Abtech’s filtration media.
    • Manage the full sales cycle, from lead generation to contract closure.
    • Work closely with customers to curate pilot tests and demonstrate product performance.
  2. Customer Relationship Management
    • Leverage existing industry relationships to accelerate adoption.
    • Maintain a high-touch, relationship-first approach to customer interactions.
    • Provide technical and commercial guidance to customers evaluating our solutions.
    • Fill and manage a robust sales funnel through direct outreach, networking, and referrals.
    • Conduct market research to identify new opportunities in high-PFAS and heavy metal removal applications.
    • Represent Abtech at industry conferences, trade shows, and networking events.
    • Use and update CRM systems to track leads, opportunities, and client interactions.
    • Provide regular sales reports and forecasts to the President of Abtech.
    • Collaborate with the Western Industrial Sales Manager to align strategies and share market insights.
  3. Travel & Field Engagement
    • Regularly travel within the Eastern USA to meet clients, conduct site visits, and drive in-person sales efforts.
    • Build strong, long-term relationships with key decision-makers in the industry.
  4. Qualifications & Experience
    • Proven experience in industrial water treatment sales (preferably with filtration media, GAC, resins, or related technologies).
    • Strong understanding of PFAS and heavy metals removal in industrial applications.
    • Existing network of industry contacts in markets such as mining, cooling towers, and power generation.
  5. Sales & Business Development Skills
    • Demonstrated ability to close deals and grow revenue in a relationship-driven industry.
    • Track record of successfully converting customers from competitor products.
    • Experience in conducting pilot tests and technical product evaluations.
  6. Operational & CRM Experience
    • Experience using CRM platforms to manage sales activities and reporting.
    • Ability to develop structured sales pipelines and track progress effectively.
  7. Soft Skills & Travel Readiness
    • Exceptional relationship-building and consultative selling skills.
    • Strong problem-solving and strategic thinking abilities.
    • Willingness to travel extensively within the Eastern USA.
