About The Company

Our client is a well-established, family-owned and operated manufacturing organization with a long history of success and a strong reputation within its industry.

The company designs and manufactures specialized industrial products and equipment used across a variety of demanding applications, including food processing, electronics, agriculture, packaging, and other manufacturing environments. Its products are known for quality, reliability, engineering expertise, and the ability to meet highly specific customer requirements.

The organization has built a strong culture around its people and is recognized as a top place to work in New Hampshire. Employee retention is strong, and the company is intentionally selective when hiring because it is looking for people who will contribute to the culture and build a long‑term career with the organization.

The Opportunity

The company is seeking a Director of Sales to lead and develop its sales organization while remaining highly engaged in the field.

This is a hands‑on sales leadership role. The successful candidate will not carry a separate individual sales quota, but will be expected to actively participate in customer relationships, field activity, sales strategy, coaching, and execution.

The Director of Sales will oversee a hybrid sales organization consisting of approximately seven direct sales professionals, along with Independent Manufacturer’s Representatives (IMRs).

Working closely with the VP of Sales & Marketing, this individual will help establish sales strategy and priorities while taking ownership of execution in the field.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the overall sales strategy and execution across the organization.
  • Provide hands‑on leadership, coaching, and development to the sales team.
  • Spend significant time in the field conducting ride‑alongs, visiting customers, and working alongside sales representatives.
  • Mentor less‑experienced sales professionals and help improve their effectiveness through consistent coaching and field support.
  • Work closely with Independent Manufacturer’s Representatives to drive performance and strengthen market coverage.
  • Establish clear expectations, accountability, sales discipline, and performance standards.
  • Develop and execute sales plans designed to drive revenue growth and expand existing customer relationships.
  • Maintain strong relationships with customers and prospects at all levels, from plant and customer‑floor personnel through executive leadership.
  • Partner with the VP of Sales & Marketing on broader commercial strategy while taking ownership of day‑to‑day execution.
  • Identify opportunities to improve sales processes, territory coverage, customer engagement, and overall team performance.
  • Serve as a visible leader within the sales organization and the broader company.
We're Looking For Someone Who Is
  • Experienced selling industrial equipment, capital equipment, MRO products, consumables, or related manufacturing products.
  • A proven sales leader who has successfully developed and managed outside sales professionals.
  • Comfortable balancing strategic thinking with hands‑on execution.
  • Experienced working with or managing Independent Manufacturer’s Representative organizations.
  • An effective coach who enjoys ride‑alongs, mentoring, and helping less‑tenured salespeople improve.
  • Comfortable communicating with everyone from plant‑floor and customer‑facing personnel to owners, executives, and senior leadership.
  • Capable of developing a sales strategy and personally driving its execution.
  • Organized, accountable, and disciplined without being overly corporate or removed from the day‑to‑day business.
  • Hungry to make an impact and motivated by the opportunity to build something rather than simply manage an established team.
Why Consider This Opportunity?
  • Established, highly respected company with a strong reputation in its industry.
  • Family‑owned and operated organization with a long‑term perspective.
  • Strong employee retention and a people‑focused culture.
  • Recognized as a top place to work in New Hampshire.
  • Significant opportunity to influence sales strategy and team performance.
  • Hands‑on leadership position with meaningful visibility throughout the organization.
  • Opportunity to develop and mentor a talented sales team.
  • Excellent fit for a sales leader who wants to remain close to customers and the field rather than move into a purely administrative leadership role.
  • Long‑term career opportunity with an organization that values cultural fit, performance, and employee longevity.
Compensation

Based on experience, but will range between $130k-150k base + bonus and commission incentives = $200k+ OTE
