Job summary

Scotty's Contracting & Stone seeks a Director of Safety to lead the company's zero-harm health and safety program and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations across heavy civil, highway, and quarry projects.

The role includes overseeing safety professionals, driving culture and training improvements, and partnering with executive leadership to shape proactive safety strategies for Scotty's safety program and operations.

Qualifications

• 10–12+ years of progressive safety leadership experience in construction
• Strong knowledge of OSHA, MSHA, and DOT safety standards
• Proven ability to lead through influence and train field leaders (coaching)

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and oversee comprehensive health and safety programs.
• Conduct frequent site visits to ensure OSHA compliance and perform inspections.
• Lead safety culture initiatives and training across divisions.
• Oversee fleet and driver safety initiatives to DOT standards.
