Job summary

Texas A&M University System seeks a Director of the Access to Care Program to lead a grant-funded initiative establishing staffed points of care across thirty-three Texas counties. The role oversees design, deployment, clinical quality, partnerships, and budget, reporting to university leadership.

The ideal candidate will have extensive health care leadership experience, ability to manage complex partnerships, and a track record in rural health delivery and grant administration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ten (10) years of related experience in management.
• Current, unrestricted license to practice medicine in Texas, or eligibility for Texas licensure.
• Board certification in a recognized clinical specialty is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Owns site development and capital deployment for 33 counties, including vendor selection and approvals.
• Defines clinical service scope and on-site/remote care models; establishes protocols and governance.
• Recruits and manages FQHC anchors; develops community engagement with officials and partners.
• Manages grant budget, reporting, and sustainability planning; leads deployment strategy.
