Job summary

Vanguard seeks a risk-minded professional to evaluate and enable innovative digital tools and investment products within Personal Wealth. You’ll partner with leaders, product teams, and risk experts to balance innovation with strong controls, shaping product lifecycle and governance from development through adoption.

You will influence risk design, collaborate across lines of defense, and drive practical risk solutions in a dynamic, growth-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Eight+ years of related work experience in risk, compliance, or internal audit.
• Proven leadership experience managing teams and outcomes.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field; advanced degree preferred.
• Strong knowledge of investment products and wealth management technology.
• Experience with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Leadership: Hire, evaluate, and supervise crew, and develop talent.
• Set performance standards, review performance, and align with HR policies.
• Communicate risk observations to leadership and shape risk strategies.
• Partner with risk and business teams to embed risk considerations in new operations.
• Proactively raise and execute plans to address risks before they materialize.
• Risk & Control Solutions: Embed risk mitigation into investment products and services.
• Applies investment and digital technical expertise to formulate best-in-class solutions.
• Consultation and Analytical Support: Provide advice on improving risk management approaches.
• Respond to risk events to identify root cause and prevent recurrence.
• Training and Awareness: Develop knowledge of wealth and regulatory changes; SME trainer.
• Special Projects: Participate in special projects and perform other duties.
• Oversight: Provide governance through strong relationships with stakeholders.
