Job summary

Gulf Winds is seeking a Director of Risk and Compliance to lead the enterprise-wide risk management and regulatory compliance programs from our Pensacola office. The role ensures compliance with federal and state regulations, protecting assets and the credit union’s reputation.

Responsibilities include developing the CMS, conducting risk assessments, and serving as the liaison for exams and audits, while guiding policy and team strategy with a strong emphasis on integrity and improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent certifications required.
• 5–8 years of related experience in risk and compliance.
• Experience implementing enterprise risk management and regulatory programs.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and execution of the Compliance Management System (CMS) with adherence to NCUA, BSA/AML, and UDAAP.
• Assist with ongoing risk assessments to identify, measure, and control operational, strategic, and reputational risks.
• Act as secondary liaison for regulatory exams and audits, ensuring timely remediation of findings.
• Draft and implement organizational policies guided by regulators.
• Provide leadership to the risk and compliance team and align with IT/cybersecurity for new products and services.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
