Job summary

Kia America, Inc. in Irvine, CA seeks a Director of Risk Management and Compliance to set strategic direction, oversee risk management and provide in-house legal services across regulatory, labor, governance and cybersecurity matters.

You will supervise attorneys and coordinate with legal leadership, business stakeholders, outside counsel, and the parent company to manage risk and ensure regulatory compliance while aligning with company objectives.

Qualifications

• J.D. from ABA-accredited school and CA Bar license required.
• 10–15 years top-tier law firm and/or in-house experience in auto industry helpful.
• Strong leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic legal advice on regulatory compliance and governance.
• Oversee employment, regulatory, environmental and tax matters and related disputes.
• Lead cybersecurity/privacy initiatives and incident response coordination.
• Manage relationships with external counsel, board and executives.
