Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of the residential program and staffing across shifts.
• Supervise clinical and non-clinical staff including counselors and supervisors.
• Ensure regulatory compliance, licensing standards, and audits.
• Monitor client care, documentation, and service delivery for quality and timeliness.
• Coordinate with medical, clinical, and administrative teams for continuity of care.
• Address incidents, grievances, and crises promptly and professionally.
• Participate in hiring, training, performance evaluations, and disciplinary actions.
• Ensure completion of reports related to legal, regulatory, and funding requirements.
• Maintain a safe, structured, and therapeutic environment for clients.
• Collaborate with external agencies and stakeholders as needed.

Position Summary

The Director of Residential Services is responsible for the overall management, operation, and supervision of the residential substance use treatment program. This role ensures the delivery of high-quality, client-centered services in compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations, including New Jersey Department of Health and DMHAS standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of the residential program, ensuring adequate staffing coverage across all shifts
• Supervise and support clinical and non-clinical staff, including counselors, support staff, and supervisors
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, licensing standards, and audits
• Monitor client care, documentation, and service delivery to ensure quality and timeliness
• Coordinate with medical, clinical, and administrative teams to ensure continuity of care
• Address incidents, grievances, and crisis situations in a timely and professional manner
• Participate in hiring, training, performance evaluations, and disciplinary actions
• Ensure proper completion of reports, including those related to legal, regulatory, and funding requirements
• Maintain a safe, structured, and therapeutic environment for clients
• Collaborate with external agencies, referral sources, and stakeholders as needed

Qualifications

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree required in Human Services, Social Work, Psychology, or related field

Licensure/Certification (Preferred/Required depending on role):

• LCADC preferred
• CCS License
• CADC with significant supervisory experience may be considered
• OR a clinical license such as LCSW, LPC, or LMFT
