Job summary

Straight and Narrow in Paterson, NJ, is seeking a Temporary/Acting Program Director for Men's Tx/HWH and Detox to oversee daily operations across residential and outpatient services. Qualifications

• Be a NJ licensed psychologist or other licensed mental health professional with 5+ years in addiction services and 2+ years in supervision.
• Must hold appropriate certification/board approval for supervisor role (APCBNJ/APCNBJ/State board as applicable).
• Multiple credential paths accepted: psychology, social work, counseling, psychiatry, nursing with supervisory credentials.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily program operations of Alpha houses, Outpatient and Medically managed programs.
• Ensure provision of quality treatment and client care per regulatory bodies and agency mission.
• Liaise with Drug Court Team, Probation, Judges and Prosecutors; travel between locations required.

We provide innovative and compassionate services to individuals struggling with substance use and co-occurring disorders. We are looking for dedicated, caring and compassionate people to work in our Residential/Outpatient Treatment Facilities and Community Programs.

Temporary/ Acting Program Director of Men's Tx/HWH and Detox

Schedule: Monday- Friday 8:30am- 4:30pm with one late night and one weekend per month.

Location: All Straight and Narrow Locations (Paterson, Passaic, Secaucus)

General Summary:

The Program Director is responsible for overseeing the daily program operations of Alpha houses, Outpatient and Medically managed program planning; and ensuring the provision of quality treatment and care for clients in accordance with the requirements of all regulating bodies, Straight & Narrows's mission, vision, values and philosophy of treatment. Act as a liaison between Straight & Narrow and members of the Drug Court Team, including the TASC Evaluator, Probation Department, Drug Court Coordinators, Judges, Prosecutors, etc. Travel between location is required.

Qualifications:

• Be a New Jersey licensed psychologist with at least five years of experience in addiction services, two of those years in a supervisory capacity, who possesses a Certification of Proficiency in the Treatment of Alcohol and other Psychoactive Substance Use Disorders from the American Psychological Association, College of Professional Psychology, or is a Certified Clinical Supervisor by the Addictions Professionals Certification Board of New Jersey (APCBNJ); or
• Be a New Jersey licensed clinical social worker with at least five years of experience in addiction services, two of those years in a supervisory capacity, who is a certified clinical supervisor by the APCBNJ
• Be a New Jersey licensed professional counselor, or licensed marriage and family therapist, with at least five years of experience in addiction services, two of those years in a supervisory capacity, who is a certified clinical supervisor by the APCBNJ; or
• Be a New Jersey LCADC with at least five years of experience in addiction services, two of those years in a supervisory capacity, who, in addition, holds a clinical Master's degree recognized by the State Board of Marriage and Family Therapy Examiners, Alcohol and Drug Committee, Division of Consumer Affairs, New Jersey Department of Law and Public Safety; or
• Be a New Jersey licensed physician who is certified by the American Society of Addiction Medicine, or is a Board-certified psychiatrist, and has at least two years of supervisory experience in addiction services.
• Be a New Jersey licensed advanced practice nurse with at least five years of experience in addiction services, two of those years in a supervisory capacity, who is a clinical supervisor certified by the APCBNJ, or
• Have a doctoral degree in human services, mental health, or social work with at least two years of supervisory experience.
  • Incumbents with a master's degree in counseling or social work not possessing any of the qualifications set forth in (a)1 through 6 above, shall obtain LCADC status or another health professional license that includes diagnostic and supervisory authority for work of an alcohol and drug counseling nature by July 15, 2016.
