Summary

Responsible for enhancing and improving the SRIM experience specifically in Heartful Care for our residents and their families by performing the following duties.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Demonstrates and promotes SRIM's core value of the Golden Rule, treating others—including residents, families, visitors, and associates—in the same way we would like to be treated.
  • Accepts responsibility and accountability for managing the community in the absence of the executive director.
  • Responsible for managing residents' healthcare, including communicating information to families and staff.
  • Demonstrates excellent decision-making skills and understands the impact of decisions.
  • Sets and manages priorities effectively.
  • Accepts calls from staff during nights and weekends as needed.
  • Conducts meetings and training sessions as required or requested.
  • Ensures communications are clear, accurate, and timely.
  • Reviews applications, checks references, and interviews candidates for hiring.
  • Monitors staff performance and provides coaching and counseling respectfully.
  • Completes performance evaluations according to company policy.
  • Manages departmental expenditures weekly to stay within budget.
  • Schedules staff based on budgeted FTEs and ensures efficient coverage.
  • Provides hands-on care as needed to meet residents' needs.
  • Performs resident evaluations to determine care levels.
  • Participates in monthly meetings with corporate nursing leadership.
  • Ensures medication orders are accurate and properly documented.
  • Reviews incident reports and follows up with appropriate actions.
  • Adheres to assisted living regulations and maintains a safe environment.
  • Practices good body mechanics and safety procedures.
  • Follows policies during emergencies and acts as essential personnel.
  • Maintains professional appearance and complies with HIPAA regulations.
  • Takes initiative, seeks additional information, and suggests improvements.
  • Performs other duties and special projects as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities

Supervises staff in the Resident Services/Nursing Department, including hiring, training, evaluating, and disciplining employees, and resolving issues.

Physical Demands

Regularly required to stand, walk, use hands, reach, talk, hear, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Occasionally sit, climb, or balance. Must lift/move up to 50 pounds occasionally.

Work Environment

Occasionally exposed to bloodborne pathogens. Reasonable accommodations available for disabilities.

  • MUST HAVE A VALID NURSING LICENSE
Qualifications

Must be able to read, analyze, and interpret complex documents; write reports and correspondence; present information effectively; and respond to questions.

Math skills include addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and interpreting graphs.

Ability to define problems, collect data, and interpret instructions.

Knowledge of word processing, payroll, and electronic medical records software.

High school diploma or GED required; 2-4 years related experience or equivalent.

Valid Florida Nursing License and completion of core training within six months of employment.
