Summary: Responsible for enhancing and improving the SRIM experience, specifically in
Heartful Care for our residents and their families by performing the following duties.

Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Demonstrates and promotes SRIM's core value of the Golden Rule of treating others, including residents, families, visitors, and associates, in the same way we would like to be treated.
  • Accepts responsibility and accountability for management of the community in the executive director's absence.
  • Responsible for managing the health care of all residents including dissemination of information to families and associates.
  • Demonstrates excellent decision-making skills and can understand the impact of those decisions.
  • Sets and manages priorities.
  • Accepts calls from staff during nights and weekends.
  • Conducts meetings/trainings as required/requested.
  • Communications are clear, accurate, and timely.
  • Reviews associate applications, checks references, and interviews applicants for the best possible hire.
  • Monitors the work the associates do and how they perform.
  • Coaches/counsels associates in a respectful manner and completes the associate performance evaluations in accordance with established policy.
  • Monitors expenditures weekly to ensure compliance with department budgeted monthly amounts.
  • Schedules associates based upon budgeted FTE's and prepares assignments to ensure efficiency.
  • Provides “hands-on” care on an as-needed basis to meet the needs of the residents.
  • Performs evaluations on residents to determine level of care and services.
  • Participates in monthly ECC and LNS meetings with the corporate director of nursing.
  • Ensures medication orders are accurate on the MORS.
  • Reviews and investigates all incident reports and recommends appropriate action/follow-up to the executive director.
  • Understands and adheres to the ALF regulations pertaining to assisted living health care laws.
  • Maintains a safe and secure working environment free of objects/situations that could cause harm and/or falls to residents, families, visitors, and associates.
  • Practices good body mechanics and safe working habits always.
  • Knows, understands, and follows established policies and procedures in emergency situations.
  • Acts as essential personnel, especially during emergencies.
  • Wears clean and appropriate dress per established policy always.
  • Understands and complies with HIPAA regulations.
  • Takes initiative in work, seeks out additional information, and offers solutions/suggestions.
  • Performs all other reasonable duties as assigned or requested.
  • Takes on special projects or assignments outside of regular duties willingly.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Directly supervises in the Resident Services/Nursing Department. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, training employees, planning, assigning, and directing work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints, and resolving problems.

Physical Demands

The physical demands include standing, walking, using hands, reaching, talking, hearing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, sitting, climbing, balancing, tasting, smelling, and occasionally lifting/moving up to 50 pounds.

Work Environment

Occasionally exposed to blood-borne pathogens; accommodations can be made for individuals with disabilities.

Qualifications

Must be able to read, analyze, interpret, write reports, and present information effectively. Math skills include addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and interpreting graphs. Reasoning skills involve problem definition, data collection, and conclusion drawing. Computer skills include word processing, payroll, and electronic medical records.

Education/Experience: High school diploma or GED; 2-4 years related experience or equivalent.

Certificates and Licenses: Valid Florida Nursing License and completion of core training within six months of employment.
