Job summary

RBC Capital Markets in Jersey City seeks a Director of Research Technology to lead and modernize our research technology organization. You will drive cloud-native architectures, microservices, and scalable data platforms while mentoring a diverse team across engineering, data, and product disciplines.

You will partner with senior leaders to translate business strategy into resilient technology, ensure delivery excellence, and maintain continuity for critical workflows in a fast-paced capital

Qualifications

• Led technology teams of 15+ across multiple disciplines.
• Modernized legacy systems with minimal business disruption.
• 12+ years in software development and architecture; 5+ years in leadership.
• Proficient in Java, .NET, Python, and React/Angular.
• Experience designing distributed systems and cloud-native apps with Docker/Kubernetes and CI/CD.

Responsibilities

• Partner with senior research leaders to translate strategy into a modern platform.
• Lead a multi-disciplinary team focused on delivery excellence and continuous improvement.
• Modernize legacy systems to cloud-native architectures and microservices.
• Oversee software pipelines supporting the full research lifecycle from ideation to publication.
• Architect a scalable data foundation leveraging cloud tech and data pipelines.
