Role Overview:

We are seeking a strategic and proactive Director of Research & Development to lead our engineering and product delivery teams. Reporting directly to the Group CTO, this role requires a hands-on leader capable of driving innovation, improving processes, and fostering a high-performance culture focused on delivering scalable, customer-centric software solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Lead daily software development activities to ensure timely releases of features, enhancements, and fixes.
2. Implement efficient processes and scalable tools to maximize productivity.
3. Collaborate with leadership to understand the impact of software releases on the business and clients.
4. Partner with Product, QA, DevOps, and Design teams to align planning and execution.
5. Guide the development team to promote effective communication and teamwork.
6. Coordinate staff activities to meet project objectives.
7. Plan and oversee staff development and training programs.
8. Participate in daily stand-ups and grooming sessions to ensure on-time releases.
9. Report weekly on progress, timelines, staffing, and obstacles.
10. Manage and forecast the annual budget.
11. Work with management and technical teams to establish the company's technical vision.
12. Promote best practices such as unit testing and code reviews.
13. Perform other duties as assigned.

Candidate Profile:

• Bachelor’s degree in business, computer science, engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience managing software development teams.
• Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and change management.
• Familiarity with technologies like .NET, SQL, HTML, JavaScript.
• Experience with B2B SaaS, especially in small business markets.
• Excellent planning and communication skills.
• Commitment to ongoing technical learning.
