Job summary

Lifepoint Rehabilitation at Cornerstone Specialty Hospitals Round Rock is seeking a Program Director to lead an inpatient rehabilitation unit serving patients recovering from serious illness, injury or surgery. You will oversee staffing, budgeting, quality and client relations to ensure high-quality, patient-centered care.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in a health-related field, current licensure as PT/OT/SLP/RN/LVN, and a track record of health services management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a health-related, business, public relations or human services field and current licensure as required (PT/OT/SLP/RN/LVN).
• Track record of successful management experience in health or human services; rehabilitation background preferred.
• Experience with geriatric disabled populations is preferred; strong interpersonal and organizational skills required.
• Provisions for transportation and computer/technology competence are necessary.

Responsibilities

• Oversee total operation of the inpatient rehabilitation program at Resolute Rehab.
• Plan, direct and coordinate program activities to meet client and company goals; contribute to program development, quality improvement and productivity enhancements.
• Supervise staffing and development of the team, including Medical Director, Nurse Manager, Therapists and other roles as assigned.
• Develop operating and capital budgets with client institutions and Lifepoint; implement PR initiatives in collaboration with client hospital Marketing.
• Maintain positive client relations and ensure compliance with policies, procedures and regulatory requirements.
• Promote a strong quality management program; participate in safety and continuous improvement activities.

Resolute Rehabilitation at Cornerstone Specialty Hospitals Round Rock is a 12-bed inpatient rehabilitation unit located at 4681 College Park Drive in Round Rock, Texas. It’s designed to help patients recover from serious illness, injury, or surgery—especially those transitioning from intensive care.

• Specialized Rehab Services: Offers intensive therapy for conditions like stroke, brain injury, spinal cord injury, orthopedic trauma, neurological disorders, amputation, and other complex conditions.
• Therapy Intensity: Patients typically receive 15 hours of therapy per week, guided by a multidisciplinary team including physicians, nurses, and therapists.
• Modern Facility: Located on the first floor, the unit is equipped with advanced rehab equipment and designed to support recovery in a focused, patient-centered environment.

How you’ll contribute

The incumbent shall be responsible for the total operation of the inpatient rehabilitation program at Resolute Rehab. The incumbent plans, directs and coordinates program activities to ensure that company and client goals are met. The incumbent shall also be accountable for and contribute to program development, quality improvement and problem solving, and productivity enhancement in a flexible interdisciplinary fashion.

PROFESSIONAL/LEADERSHIP AREA

• 1. Ensure for program staffing, team supervision, and development. Team may include roles of Medical Director, Nurse Manager, Therapist, Social Worker, Community Relations Coordinator, Clinical Coordinator, Admissions Coordinator and others as assigned.
• 2. Promote adherence to policies and practices of applicable professional organizations, client hospital and Lifepoint.
• 3. Supervise the development of improved efficiency and productivity of facility/unit clinical/administrative functions.
• 4. Communicate and demonstrate a professional image/attitude for patients, families, clients, coworkers and others.
• 5. Participate in continuing education/professional development activities.
• 6. Assures that all patient care activities are performed according to the company policies and procedures and all applicable state and federal laws and regulatory agencies.

FISCAL/OPERATIONAL MANAGEMENT AREA

• 1. Develop facility/unit operating and capital budget with client institution.
• 2. Develop facility/unit operating and capital budget with Lifepoint (not in consultation with client hospital).
• 3. Develops and ensures implementation of a program of professional and community relations in collaboration with client hospital Marketing Department.
• 4. Monitor referral/admission process.
• 5. Develop and implement program public relations plan.

CLIENT RELATIONS AREA

• 1. Maintain positive working relationship with client organization.
• 2. Maintain customer service program on unit and in hospital.

QUALITY MANAGEMENT AREA

• 1. Ensures the facility/unit has a comprehensive quality management program.
• 2. Quality management activities are data driven.
• 4. Participate in facility/unit safety committee activities.

Qualifications and requirements:

The incumbent shall, at a minimum, be a graduate of a bachelor’s degree program in a health related, business, public relations or human services area of concentration. Must possess a current license to practice as required by the state. License required: PT, OT, SLP, RN, or LVN

A track record of successful management experience in a health or human services setting and/or an extensive rehabilitation background combined with strong interpersonal and organizational skill is necessary. Experience working with a geriatric disabled population is preferred. Provision of own transportation is necessary. Computer and current technology competence.
