Job summary

Thermal Engineering International is seeking a Director of Quality to lead the quality function from our Tulsa, OK office (or the nearby Joplin, MO facility). You will ensure compliance with the Quality Control Manual, customer specs, and regulatory standards, and drive the ongoing enhancement of quality systems and certifications (ISO 9001:2015, ASME III, ASME VIII).

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering is mandatory.
• Master's degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or Business Administration is highly desirable.
• Minimum 10 years in Quality Assurance/Control in manufacturing/industrial sectors.
• 5+ years of leadership experience overseeing quality teams.
• 5+ years in Power Industry experience preferred.
• Experience with ISO 9001:2015, ASME III/VIII, or similar regulated systems.
• Proven track record in QMS development and maintenance.
• Experience leading internal and external audits (customer/regulatory/certification).
• Strong CAPA, root-cause analysis, and continuous improvement skills.
• Experience in supplier quality, vendor qualification, and performance monitoring.
• Knowledge of welding/fabrication for pressure-boundary equipment.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for the Quality function.
• Develop and monitor quality KPIs and dashboards.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Project Management.
• Ensure compliance with inspection, testing, and documentation procedures.
• Lead audits with customers, regulators, and certification bodies.
• Present updates on quality performance and risk to exec team.
• Review proposals, cost estimates, and project quality plans.
• Participate in Corporate Quality initiatives as required.
