Job summary

NYU Langone Health seeks a Director for Quality, Clinical Documentation and Analytics to lead hospital-wide quality, documentation, and analytics initiatives for medical staff. The role interfaces with finance, IT, and clinical leadership to drive performance improvements in patient care and outcomes.

The position requires MD/DO with board certification and active NY licensure, plus extensive leadership in academic medicine and experience with clinician education and mentoring.

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree from an accredited institution and board certification in Internal Medicine or a subspecialty.
• Active NYS medical licensure or eligibility for licensure.
• Eligibility for academic appointment at NYU Grossman School of Medicine at the rank of Assistant/Associate/Full Professor or Clinical Professor of Medicine.
• Progressive leadership experience in academic medicine with prior roles such as Section Chief, Vice Chair, or Division Director.
• Strong inpatient clinical operations, quality improvement, and performance metrics management experience.
• Experience with physician leadership, faculty development, and mentoring.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for cross‑functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Oversee hospital-wide quality, clinical documentation, and analytics initiatives for physicians and staff.
• Interface with finance, clinical operations, and MCIT on documentation improvement projects.
• Lead education and liaison efforts with Service Chiefs, Unit Dyads, and Department Chairs.
• Drive quality initiatives to improve externally reported metrics and patient outcomes.
• Develop strategies to improve efficiency while maintaining high-quality patient care; reduce ED holds and improve throughput.
