About the Opportunity
We’re partnering with an established aerospace and defense manufacturing organization seeking an experienced Director of Quality to lead its quality organization, Quality Management System, regulatory compliance, customer quality, supplier quality, and continuous improvement efforts.
This is an excellent opportunity for a quality leader with experience in aerospace, defense, aviation, military manufacturing, precision manufacturing, or another highly regulated manufacturing environment.
The ideal candidate understands what it takes to operate in a quality-driven manufacturing environment where customer requirements, traceability, documentation, audits, corrective actions, supplier quality, and product conformity are critical.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Lead the organization's Quality Management System (QMS) and overall quality strategy.
- Oversee Quality Assurance, Quality Control, inspection, compliance, and quality documentation.
- Lead and support AS9100, ISO 9001, NADCAP, customer, and regulatory audits.
- Manage customer quality concerns, nonconformances, corrective actions, and escalations.
- Drive root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA) using structured problem-solving methods.
- Track and report quality KPIs, defect trends, audit findings, NCRs, and corrective action performance.
- Partner with Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations, Supply Chain, and executive leadership to improve product quality and manufacturing performance.
- Oversee supplier quality, supplier approvals, incoming quality, and external provider performance.
- Ensure products and processes meet customer specifications, drawings, procedures, and quality requirements.
- Lead, coach, and develop the quality team while building accountability throughout the organization.
- Identify opportunities to reduce defects, improve processes, strengthen compliance, and prevent recurring quality issues.
What They’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, or a related technical field preferred.
- Strong quality leadership experience within a manufacturing environment.
- Previous experience managing or supervising quality teams.
- Experience within aerospace, defense, aviation, military, space, precision manufacturing, or another highly regulated industry strongly preferred.
- Experience working with AS9100 and/or NADCAP highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of ISO 9001 and Quality Management Systems.
- Experience with internal, customer, supplier, and certification audits.
- Strong background in root cause analysis, CAPA, NCRs, continuous improvement, and problem solving.
- Experience working with customer quality requirements and supplier quality issues.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, procedures, and customer requirements.
- Strong leadership, communication, organization, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office.
