Job summary

Lakeland Monroe Group is seeking a Director of Quality to plan, document, implement and adminster the Quality program across three facilities in Grand Rapids. You will ensure continual improvement and customer satisfaction by developing and maintaining the Quality System.

Leading quality managers, you’ll drive audits, improve processes, and collaborate with Operations to report metrics and advance product quality across all lines. Strong leadership and strategic thinking are essential.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university with five years of related experience; or a high school diploma/GED with ten years of related experience.
  • Proficient in FMEA, PPAP, APQP, SPC, and Measuring Systems Analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, document, implement and administer the Quality program to achieve continual improvement and customer satisfaction.
  • Oversee the group of quality managers across 3 facilities.
  • Develop and maintain Quality System to meet customer needs; update Quality Manual at least annually.
  • Audit effectiveness of Quality System and coordinate customer audits.
  • Lead Quality staff to support all product lines and functions across facilities.
  • Develop measures of improvement and report progress with Operations.
  • Drive continual improvements and effective communication with customers.

Job Summary:

Plan, document, implement and administer the Quality program to achieve continual improvement in all forms of work and assure customer satisfaction.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Oversee the group of quality managers across 3 facilities.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain Quality System to meet the intent of customer needs.
  • Maintain the Quality Manual and update at least annually.
  • Ensure the Quality System is responsible to the need for continual rapid improvement.
  • Jointly develop and maintain procedures, with all other areas throughout the company to effectively implement the Quality System.
  • Audit the effectiveness of the Quality System and serve as a focal point for customer audits.
  • With Operations; develop measures of improvement and report regularly.
  • Continually improve communication and credibility with customers.
  • Organize staff and lead Quality function to support all product lines and functional areas in multiple facilities.
  • Explore new methods for quality improvement and act as consultant and catalyst to the company staff for making improvements in all areas.
  • Develop and maintain effective system of new product implementation.
  • Develop and maintain TS16949 System
  • Select and develop staff to meet organization’s goals and objectives.
  • TS16949/ISO14001 Management Representative.
  • Responsible for attending education courses to upgrade managerial and technical skills as necessary.
  • Performs miscellaneous duties and projects as assigned and required.

    Proficient in: FMEA, PPAP, APQP, SPC, Measuring Systems Analysis.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of standing and/or walking during an 8 hours shift.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.
  • The employee frequently is required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • The employee is occasionally required to walk and talk or hear.
