Job summary

• Maintain a system for costing and extending requisitions and formulate reports on usage per department.
• Ensure compliance with Omni corporate procurement procedures including using preferred and mandated vendors.
• Generate a complete and accurate inventory on the last day of each month with updated costs.
• Create or obtain competitive bids on all products ensuring quality and low cost.
• Maintain professionalism in the storeroom, hygiene, and communication of hotel policies.
• Obtain authorized purchase orders for non-food, food and beverage products and materials.
• Maintain supplier relationships while scouting for new vendors.

Overview:

Administrate the employees of the Purchasing Department including hiring, scheduling, training and discipline.

Responsibilities:

• Manage and administrate the staff of the Purchasing and receiving department including hiring, scheduling, training and discipline.
• Be responsible for the security of all products in the storeroom and ensure proper receiving techniques and requisition procedures. Keep an accurate receiving log on all products.
• Maintain workable pars for all products in the storeroom. Ensure accurate ordering is taking place, minimizing over stocked items and spoilage while also not running out.
• Maintain a system for costing and extending requisitions and formulate reports on usage per department.
• Ensure compliance with Omni corporate procurement procedures including using preferred and mandated vendors. Build and maintain
• Generate a complete and accurate inventory on the last day of each month. Use computer generated inventory sheets and/or software in a logical order with updated costs. If available provide updated electronic collection devices.
• Create or obtain competitive bids on all products ensuring optimum quality and efficient service at the lowest price.
• Maintain a high level of professionalism in the storeroom including cleanliness and communication of hotel policies and events, uniforms and overall organization and consistency. Have an on-going safety program.
• Obtain an authorized purchase order before ordering all non-food, food and beverage products including printed material, paper goods, guest supplies, etc.
• Maintaining relationships with suppliers while continually scouting for additional vendors
• Evaluating spending operations while seeking ways to improve and enhance the quality of products purchased and the timeliness of deliveries
• Submit invoices attached to routing slips or purchase orders properly coded to the finance department of the hotel on a timely basis.
