Job summary

Job Summary

We are seeking a Director of Project Controls to build and lead the Project Controls function supporting a portfolio of large-scale power generation projects. This position will establish corporate standards and provide portfolio-level leadership across planning, scheduling, cost and contract controls, and document controls. The Director will serve as the central authority for project cost, schedule, forecasting, and reporting while providing executive leadership with objective visibility into project performance and risk.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Build, lead, and develop the Project Controls team, including schedulers, cost/contract analysts, document control specialists, and support staff.
• Establish project controls standards, governance, reporting processes, work breakdown structures, baseline schedules, budgets, and progress measurement methodologies.
• Lead portfolio scheduling using Primavera P6, including critical path management, schedule forecasting, variance analysis, recovery planning, and schedule risk assessment.
• Oversee project budgeting, cost forecasting, earned value, cost-to-complete, contingency management, change orders, claims, and contract compliance.
• Establish and manage document control processes and systems, including submittals, RFIs, transmittals, drawing revisions, records management, and audit readiness.
• Provide portfolio-level reporting and analysis of project cost, schedule, contract status, forecasts, risks, and corrective actions to executive leadership.
• Partner with Development, EPC, Finance, Legal, and Accounting to align project scope, schedule, cost, contractual requirements, and development-to-construction handoffs.
• Support lender, investor, customer, and Independent Engineer reporting, including project diligence, progress certification, and financing requirements.

Job Requirements

• Advanced knowledge of project planning, scheduling, cost controls, forecasting, earned value, change management, and contract controls.
• Expert-level Primavera P6 experience and familiarity with project/document control platforms such as Procore.
• Strong understanding of EPC project delivery, construction execution, commercial contracts, and project risk management.
• Demonstrated experience developing and implementing project controls standards across multiple concurrent projects.
• Experience supporting project financing, lender/investor reporting, and Independent Engineer reviews.
• Strong leadership, communication, analytical, and decision-making skills with the ability to communicate effectively with project teams and executive stakeholders.

Education / Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Finance, or related discipline required.
• 15+ years of progressive project controls experience with 5+ years in a leadership role.
• Large-scale power generation, energy infrastructure, or EPC project experience required.
• PMP and/or PSP certification preferred.
