Job summary

Farnsworth Group, Inc. is seeking a Director of Project Accounting to lead a 10-15 person Project Accounting team across architecture, engineering, and survey practice groups.

The role oversees contract setup, invoicing, revenue recognition, and closeout, ensuring accuracy and compliance. The ideal candidate has deep AEC project accounting experience in large firms, expert Deltek VantagePoint/Vision skills, and a proven ability to develop and retain top talent while maintaining rigorous

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
• Minimum 8-10 years of project accounting experience with at least 3-5 years in a supervisory/management role.
• Experience at a mid-to-large AEC firm with revenues well in excess of $100 million preferred.
• Expert-level proficiency in Deltek VantagePoint or Deltek Vision; ability to train others.

Responsibilities

• Lead, manage, and develop a team of 10-15 Project Accountants across multiple practice groups.
• Oversee project setup in Deltek VantagePoint/Vision, including contract values, billing terms, and labor categories.
• Direct invoicing cycle and manage accounts receivable aging and collections.
• Oversee monthly revenue recognition and project reporting, including backlog and profitability metrics.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and contract billing requirements; manage internal controls.
