Job summary

Vercel is seeking a Director of Professional Services to build and lead its Professional Services function. Forward Deployed Engineers will embed with strategic customers to design, build, and ship production apps on Vercel using Next.js, AI SDK, and v0.

You will define the operating model, engagement framework, and commercial structure for the team. This is an in-person (hybrid) role based in San Francisco, Austin, or New York, requiring 3 days in the office per week.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in software engineering, forward deployed engineering, or technical consulting roles.
• 5+ years leading customer-facing engineering or delivery teams.

Responsibilities

• Build, lead, and develop the Professional Services team (TAM, FDE, etc.).
• Define engagement model including scoping, staffing, sequencing, and measurement.
• Own delivery excellence from discovery to deployment and stabilization.
• Establish the commercial model for services including packaging, pricing, and capacity planning.
• Stay hands-on on architecture reviews, system design, and critical engagements.
